ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Concerned Veterans for America Action (CVA Action) today announced its endorsement of Sen. Dan Sullivan for re-election to the U.S. Senate, citing his distinguished military service and record of advancing policies that support America’s veterans, national security, and the economy.
John Byrnes, Senior Advisor to Concerned Veterans for America Action, issued the following statement:
“As a Marine Corps veteran representing one of the nation’s largest veteran populations, Sen. Sullivan understands firsthand the sacrifices of those who serve and has been a steadfast advocate for Alaska’s veterans in Washington.
Beyond his advocacy for veterans, he has demonstrated a commitment to expanding domestic energy production, cutting burdensome regulations, and lowering costs for Alaska families – which is exactly the kind of leadership the state needs.”
Throughout his time in the Senate, Sullivan has championed legislation that reflects both CVA Action’s priorities and the issues that matter most to Alaskans, including:
- The Veterans’ ACCESS Act, which improves veterans’ access to timely, high-quality care by protecting and improving access to community care options, reducing barriers to treatment.
- The Veteran Health Care Freedom Act, which creates a three-year VA pilot giving veterans the ability to use their health benefits at VA-run or community care facilities without complicated pre-approval steps, like many existing TRICARE plans.
- The Restore VA Accountability Act, which strengthens accountability within the Department of Veterans Affairs while protecting due process and whistleblowers.
- The Prevent Government Shutdowns Act, which promotes fiscal responsibility by preventing costly government shutdowns while Congress completes the appropriations process.
- The REINS Act, which requires congressional approval before major federal regulations can take effect, helping rein in bureaucratic overreach.

BACKGROUND:
The endorsement marks the beginning of a comprehensive advocacy effort in Alaska, with CVA Action committing significant resources to grassroots organizing, digital advertising, including streaming and connected TV, and direct mail outreach.
